Today, we immerse ourselves in the cultural heart of Northern Vietnam, capturing the essence of two iconic villages. In the morning, we visit a traditional soy sauce village, where the art of fermentation has been passed down for generations. Our lenses document the meticulous process and the aged barrels exuding rich aromas.

In the afternoon, we shift focus to a bamboo fishing trap village, where skilled artisans craft intricate traps by hand. Each click preserves the harmony between tradition and nature, telling the story of a way of life deeply connected to the water. From the savory essence of soy to the rhythmic artistry of fishing traditions, today’s journey offers a visual tapestry of Northern Vietnam’s cultural richness.

This shift from the peaceful scenes of Hanoi to Hue’s rich history adds depth to our photographic journey, as we anticipate exploring the city’s imperial past and vibrant culture.

We step into the historic grandeur of Hue’s Imperial City, where Vietnamese models dressed in elegant Ao Dai bring the past to life against ancient walls and regal architecture. Our cameras frame stories of tradition and grace within this UNESCO-listed citadel.

Later, we turn our lenses to the daily lives of local fishermen, capturing their skillful net-casting on the Perfume River. As the sun sets, we witness the enchanting sight of floating candles drifting along the water, carrying wishes and dreams. From imperial elegance to the rhythms of river life, today’s journey weaves together the diverse cultural stories of Hue.

Day 5 · Hue - Hoi An

We begin our morning in Hue’s eerie yet captivating abandoned water park, where nature is slowly reclaiming forgotten structures. This haunting beauty offers a unique contrast of decay and resilience.

From Hue, we journey to Hoi An, where vibrant streets and lantern-lit alleys become our playground for street photography. We capture the town’s energy, from bustling markets to quiet moments in historic courtyards. As the day fades, we frame Hoi An’s glowing lanterns at sunset, creating a stunning finale to a day of contrasts between past and present.

Later, we turn our focus to portrait photography, capturing the weathered beauty and wisdom in the face of an elderly local. As the morning progresses, we bid farewell to Hoi An and journey to Phu Yen, where a new chapter of visual exploration awaits.

Day 7 · Hoi An - Phu Yen

In Phu Yen, we immerse ourselves in the rhythms of coastal life, capturing fishermen navigating the waves and, if fortune favors us, the dynamic grace of a net-casting scene....

Since salt field activities occur only in summer, we photograph the seascape of Khanh Hoa during other seasons.

Later, we travel to Phan Rang Thap Cham, where we conclude the day by capturing a shepherd guiding his flock home against a backdrop of golden dunes. Today’s visual story blends human resilience, cultural heritage, and the raw beauty of Vietnam’s landscapes.

Later, we set off for Mui Ne, home to Vietnam’s most striking sand dunes, preparing for another day of dynamic landscapes and cultural encounters.
